Including Rental Property In Your Trust

October 15, 2018

You can easily include your rental property in your Trust in one of two ways. If you own your rentals in your own name. You should consider placing them in to LLC's before we transfer them to the Trust. If you do not wish to do this then drafting a Quitclaim deed and statement of authority to be recorded in the county the property sits will include the home in the Trust. However, if you already have the rentals in LLCs, or you want to put them in one, then you would draft transfer on death assignment of LLC interest to the trust. This grants the Trustee the ability to immediately access control of the LLC property and business checking accounts. Check out more at our Rental Property to LLC video below.
